GeoSway — Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 20, 2025

GeoSway (“GeoSway,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is the operating name (“DBA”) of Geotistics, LLC, a West Virginia company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with geosway.com and related services, including our plugins/add-ons, software downloads, APIs, and email communications (collectively, the “Services”).

If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, additional disclosures under GDPR are included below. California and certain U.S. state-specific notices (e.g., CPRA/CCPA) are also provided.

By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1) Information We Collect

a) You provide directly

  • Account data (name, email, password if you create a WooCommerce account).
  • Social login data (e.g., Google sign-in profile information like name, email, profile image, subject ID).
  • Purchase and subscription details (selected plan, license/API key assignment).
  • Support correspondence, survey responses, or other content you submit.
  • Newsletter signup preferences.

b) Collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, timestamps, crash/diagnostic logs.
  • Cookies/trackers for site functionality, analytics, advertising, and fraud prevention.
We use tools such as (but not limited to) consent/cookie systems, analytics, advertising pixels/tags, Google reCAPTCHA, and CleanTalk (spam protection).

c) From third parties

  • Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) provide us with payment confirmations and limited billing metadata—we do not receive full card numbers.
  • Email and marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) manage email preferences and campaign metrics.
  • Marketplace platforms (e.g., Google Workspace Marketplace) may share licensing status and account identifiers necessary to activate paid features.
  • Public or licensed datasets (e.g., U.S. Census, BLS, OpenStreetMap) used by our apps and dashboards.

2) How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and secure the Services (including licensing, API key validation, spam/fraud prevention).
  • Process orders, subscriptions, and renewals; facilitate payments via Stripe/PayPal.
  • Communicate with you (transactional emails, service notices, product updates).
  • Send marketing communications (you can opt out at any time).
  • Personalize content and measure/improve our Services (analytics, diagnostics).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR): performance of a contract, legitimate interests (e.g., security, analytics, marketing to existing users), compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required (e.g., non-essential cookies in EEA/UK).

3) Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose information to:

  • Service providers/processors acting on our behalf (hosting, analytics, email, customer support, fraud prevention, payment processing).
  • Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) to complete transactions.
  • Advertising/analytics partners for measurement and (where permitted) interest-based or cross-context behavioral advertising. In some states (e.g., California), this may be considered “sharing.” You may opt out—see Section 9.
  • Corporate transactions: If GeoSway is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or similar, information may transfer as a business asset subject to this Policy.
  • Legal/dispute purposes: To comply with law, lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, and our Terms.

4) Cookies, Tracking, and Advertising Choices

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential site features and security (including Google reCAPTCHA and CleanTalk).
  • Analytics and performance.
  • Marketing/retargeting (e.g., Google, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok pixels/tags).

Your choices

  • Browser settings to block/clear cookies.
  • Email opt-out links in marketing emails (Mailchimp managed).
  • “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” controls (see Section 9).
  • In EEA/UK, we display a consent banner and only set non-essential cookies with your consent.
  • We honor supported browser GPC (Global Privacy Control) signals where legally required.

reCAPTCHA disclosure: This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
CleanTalk disclosure: We use CleanTalk anti-spam; it may process IP/metadata solely for spam prevention.

5) Data Retention

We generally retain information until you request deletion, or as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including legal, accounting, or reporting requirements (e.g., tax/transaction records). We periodically review stored data and endeavor to minimize retention consistent with business and legal needs.

6) Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information (encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring). No security method is 100% secure; you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and API keys.

7) Your Rights

U.S. residents (where applicable under state laws): You may have rights to know/access, correct, delete, data portability, opt out of sale/sharing/targeted advertising, and limit use of sensitive personal information (we do not use SPI for inferring characteristics). You may designate an authorized agent and submit requests through the methods below. We will verify requests and respond within required timelines. If we decline a request, you may appeal using the same contact method.

EEA/UK/Swiss residents (GDPR): You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object (including to direct marketing), and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

How to exercise: See Section 12 (Contact). We may request information to verify your identity.

8) International Transfers

We are U.S.-based. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers from the EEA/UK/Switzerland.

  • Purposes: as described in Sections 2–4.
  • Retention: as described in Section 5.
